Dr. Barbara Board
President
Barbara A. Board, Ph.D., Smith Mountain Lake, VA: Graduate of Franklin County High School, Virginia State University (bachelor’s degree), and Virginia Tech (doctoral degrees). Professionally, Barbara’s held positions at the local, district, and state levels with the Virginia Cooperative Extension and served as the Interim Associate Dean, Extension, College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences with the Cooperative Extension at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (NC A&T). Currently, Barbara serves as a member of the State Health Commissioner's Advisory Council on Health Disparity and Health Equity, serves as an active member of the Roanoke Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated, and serves on the Working Group for the Union Hall, Virginia Board of Supervisor. Lastly, Barbara, is a lifetime member of the National Association of 4-H Youth Development Professionals, is a Virginia 4-H All-Star, and holds emeritus status at Virginia Tech. She currently serves as President with the Friends of Booker T. Washington National Monument.
